I am a passionate Physical Education teacher with 12 years of experience dedicated to helping students develop confidence, teamwork, leadership, and a lifelong love of sport and physical activity.
My athletic background spans both volleyball and softball at the highest levels. In volleyball, I was a two-time Provincial and National Champion, and I have continued to give back to the sport through coaching and leadership. I have served as a Club-level coach, Technical Director, and Director of a House League program, helping athletes develop their skills while creating positive and inclusive sporting experiences.
Softball has also played a significant role in my athletic journey. I earned a Division I softball scholarship to Winthrop University, where I had the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level. Before that, I was a two-time Provincial and National Champion with the Whitby Eagles. I was also honoured to represent Team Ontario in 2009 at the Canada Summer Games in Prince Edward Island.
Through my experiences as an athlete, coach, educator, and program leader, I have developed a strong passion for developing athletes both on and off the field. I believe sport is about much more than competition; it is about building character, resilience, leadership, confidence, and lifelong connections.
I have been passionate about volleyball from a young age, and the sport has continued to play an important role in both my personal and professional journey. My experiences as an athlete have shaped my understanding of teamwork, discipline, leadership, and the importance of creating a positive environment for athletes to grow.
I am currently pursuing a degree in Teacher Education, with the goal of combining my passion for education and athletics to make a meaningful impact on young people. I enjoy helping athletes develop not only their technical skills, but also their confidence, communication, and love for the game.
Today, I continue to give back to the sport I grew up playing as an assistant coach with both a 16U boys team and an 11U girls team. Working with athletes at different stages of development has been incredibly rewarding and has strengthened my passion for coaching and mentorship.
Whether in the classroom or on the volleyball court, I strive to create an encouraging, inclusive, and growth-focused environment where young people feel supported, challenged, and motivated to reach their potential.
